Spot UV lays a clear, UV-cured varnish over selected areas only, leaving a glass-like gloss against the surrounding surface. The effect depends almost entirely on contrast, so it is at its best over matte lamination - the same color appears in two finishes and the design reveals itself as the light moves. Raised spot UV builds the varnish up into a dimensional, textured layer.
