Embossing is the mirror of debossing: matched male and female dies push the design up off the surface into relief. Single-level embossing gives a clean raised shape; multi-level sculpted dies can render depth and contour. Combined with foil stamping in one pass, the result is a raised metallic mark - the most recognizable premium packaging cue there is.
